Mario Yepes [Chievo]
Didn’t deserve to be on the losing side as he swept away any danger from Milan including two crucial blocks on Borriello. Also scored an opportunistic goal, which was wrongly disallowed. Significant.

Christian Terlizzi [Catania]
The 30-year-old kept Maicon quiet most of the game and inspired his back four with a controlled performance. Constantly foiled Inter’s forwards and almost scored with a header early in the game. Motivated.

Simone Perrotta [Roma]
Read the game well and always pushed forward. Scored the first and set up both of the other goals, which had class stamped all over them, especially his fine run to set up Pizarro’s strike. Consistent.

Mirko Pieri [Livorno]
A fine performance from the former Samp midfielder, literally Man of the Match stuff. Never stopped running, and put everything into his tackles and passes. Would have won the game at the death if not for Sergio’s fine save. Sharp.

Stevan Jovetic [Fiorentina]

Christian Maggio [Napoli]
